I've ignored all the best-of and look-back articles for 2012, and spent Christmas playing the games rather than writing about them. However, with the Top 100 UK games (retail sales) just posted, it is interesting to note that the Vita has only one exclusive representative, and that way by far and away the best-selling launch game, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, creeping in at No. 91.
Sure, Need for Speed, the LEGO games and FIFA are in there as multi-format entries, but Assassin's Creed III Liberation, Call of Duty Declassified and other Vita efforts missed out. Only the top two managed a million sales showing the dire UK market reduced to a gaming backwater.
Even if the Vita continues in Japan will Sony Europe continue to support it beyond this year if the western developers dry up in 2013? Or are digital sales doing really well, and all this isn't as bad as it seems?
