Japanese gamers were forming orderly lines outside major game stores just to put their names down for a Vita. This is ahead of the launch on December 17.
More (with pics, if you need hard evidence or like looking at people queuing) here. After action reports suggest there were up to 1,200 people at one store alone with Amazon Japan also marking its Vita range as out of stock, shortly after pre-orders started.
Sony mentioned the first 500,000 units will come with free 3G minutes, but no one really knows how many will be available for day one sales. Looks like import models, if you can find one anywhere, will come with a socking great price-tag. Best just to wait a few months I think.
